Te Awamutu is located about 30km south of Hamilton City, in the Waikato district of the North Island, New Zealand. It takes about 30 minutes from Hamilton. Our main purpose coming here to visit the places that we never visit before….hahaha….so antara tempat-tempat yg kitaorg gi visit mcm kat Te Awamutu Rose Garden, I-Site, Museum and umah Kak Ani Singapore Mcam biase kitaorg kalo gi jejalan tak lain tak bukan jiran kami (Zaidi n family) turut memeriahkan lagi perjalanan kami yg pendek ni…

Te Awamutu I-Site

This is just a small town not like Hamilton city but the view and scenery very nice!! Nak pusing-pusing dalam town pun takle gi mane sgt pun…sempatla singgah jap kat Car boot market just in front of the museum…tapi barang2 banyak yg dah abih..huhuh..lepas penat2 jalan pastu last destination kitaorg umah kak Ani. Nie lah antara aktiviti mingguan kitaorg bile dah takde specific plan nak gi maner..gi jalan2 ronda2 tak pun menziarahi our malaysian friends around here (not weekly but its all depend on rajin ke dok…muahahaha!)

Northland Trip (29 Nov- 1 Dec 08)

Huh! No visit to New Zealand is complete without a trip to subtropical Northland. Northland is a contrast between the turquoise waters and golden sands of the east coast, and the wild surf and dramatic scenery of the west coast beaches. It offers hospitable local culture, historic landmarks, secluded coves, tranquil harbours and spectacular forests. A highlight is Cape Reinga, the northern most point in the country, where we can experience the surging spectacle of the Tasman Sea meeting the Pacific Ocean.

We have spent 3 days 2 night for our trip around the Northland and we had a great time, saw lots of sights, driven a long way (probably about 1000kms – some on gravel roads) . When making a trip around Northland, we are better off driving our own vehicle coz there’s a lot of gorgeos place to visit and can spend more times by our own itenaries….hehehe. Wow..menarik ber’bbq’ di tepi pantai a.k.a merasmikan bbq set zaidi yg baru…hehehe…mase ni parents zaidi and his sister (baru sampai dari Malaysia) join sama bersuka-ria di tepi pantai Raglan. Before, kitaorg dtg Raglan just makan2 and picnic2 but this this it quite different, BBQ is the only reason!! hehehe… Oh kitaorg gak, bukan setakat berbbq tapi sempat lagi plak tu dok kutip ‘clamp’ kalo kat Malaysia panggil kerang kot sebab fesyen dia mcm lain skit kat sini compare to malaysia. Enjoy tetap enjoy….penat tetap penat…but its really enjoyable and love to do it again n again….hahaha

Inilah antara salah satu aktiviti kitaorg bile ade je mase kosong. Biasanya starwberry kat sini banya time2 dah nak masuk Spring season (musim bunga) yer kot…..hehehe….kat sini diaorg tnam tak mcam kat cameron, diaorg pakai tanam atas batas pastu pepandai la strawberi naak menjalar ke mana-mana ntah. This is an enjoyable thing to de here, rase-rase most of Malaysian kat sini mesti and kompom akan datang sini…betul tak?! hehehe….

This is a day visit to auckland with Ella’s fren (semuanya pompuan melainkan dreba je laki…hahaha) kitaorg jejalan gi Huntly (stop for breakfast) , One Tree Hill, Okahu Bay, Michael Joseph Savage Memorial and last skali gi shopping jap kat E-Pac East Tamaki (kat sini biasanya malaysian gi beli barang2 malaysia mcm kicap kipas udang n mcm2 lagi)

Alhamdulillah kami dapat juga merasakan suasana berhari raya di perantauan walaupun berjauhan dari kawan2 and family. Walaupun sambutan raya kami disini disambut dalam keadaan besederhana tapi memang cukup meriah.

Hubungan persaudaraan sesama rakan-rakan di Hamilton membuatkan kami seolah-olah masih lagi berada di Malaysia. Macam Pak Rahman (antara org yg paling lama tinggal di New Zealand, more than 20 years) this year punya raya 2008 memang best ever than raya-raya before, cayalah Pak Raman!

Selepas solat raya beramai-ramai di rumah abg Halim kitaorg start konvoi beramai-ramai beraya ke rumah kawan-kawan malaysian di hamilton (blehla dalam 10 buah umah kot)

Ni lah baju raya kitaorg....hehehe

Oh…its been too long, kitaorg tak update2kan blog ni….huhu…since keje kat Chocolate factory asyik rase cam malas2 jer nak updatekan web blog ni. Anyway, we try our best to update this blog as much as we can selagi mana yg termampu. There will be a few outdated info that will be posted here tapi selagi kitaorg bleh selit2kan jugak as our memorable stories, we will try and try…cyayok2!! ok wait for new coming stories…see ya!! hehehe….

Merdeka Nite Celebration

On Friday, August 29, 2008 we went to ” Merdeka Nite Celebration at the Station”. This is a patriotic gathering/celebration organized by the WUMA (Waikato University Malaysian Association) in the building ‘Station’ next to Management School building. The celebration as a remembrance/memorial for our patriots that led our Malaysia country got its independence. The atmosphere is just awesome.

This is our first ever Merdeka celebration outside from Malaysia and we hope this becomes a long time family tradition. We enjoyed the wonderful music along with some dance performed by our Malaysian students! Believe it or not, in a crowd that size we ran into several friends and even some family members. The kids were so well behaved! Even there was no fireworks display this time but we still got the meaning of independence by gathering and joining such celebration. We had so much fun we wish you all were here with us.

If any one ever comes to visit us on Merdeka Day then you can be sure we will take you to The Celebration at the Station because till end of the nite, Ella won the special gift for Best Dressing (Woman category)….hehehe…
